Tasting notes
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Clew is another wine built on texture and pure power, with generous notes of blueberry jam, cloves, new leather, spices and menthol that come alive in the glass. Sumptuous and beautifully layered, the 2012 Clew is a classic Mark Herold wine. The 2012 should drink well for the next decade-plus.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Clew, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is an impressively crafted blue/purple wine with plenty of black raspberry, blackcurrant fruit, licorice, incense and camphor. The wine is full-bodied and well put together, with sweet tannin, decent acidity and terrific richness. Drink it over the next 12-15 years.
The 2012 Clew shows the pure quality and pedigree of the vintage. Dark red/black fruit, new leather, exotic spices and orange peel all jump from the glass in an intense, beautifully layered Cabernet Sauvignon long on class and personality. There is a lot to like in this deep, flavorful Cabernet from Maze.
