Tasting notes
Light, bright yellow-gold. Ginger- and mineral-tinged citrus and orchard fruits on the nose, with suggestions of smoky lees, chamomile and green tea adding complexity. Fleshy, dry and focused, with pear skin, nectarine and licorice flavors lifted by a refreshingly bitter lemon pith nuance on the back end. Shows very good energy and cut on the taut, focused finish, which leaves sappy Meyer lemon and tarragon notes behind. The anise and mineral qualities of this wine would make it a great match with almost any type of seafood, especially shellfish.

Lemon peel, white flowers and almonds are some of the notes that meld together in the 2012 Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills. The warmth and generosity of the vintage has softened some of the contours in this bright, vibrant Chardonnay. The fruit sources are mostly Bent Rock and Rita's Crown.
