Tasting notes
(aged in 40% new oak, mostly from Boutes, Taransaud and Sylvain): Bright medium ruby. Blackberry, licorice, bitter chocolate, cocoa powder and a hint of graphite on the nose and palate. Quite showy and perfumed in the mouth, offering lovely floral lift to its dark fruit flavors. Firm acidity and dusty, building tannins call for some patience but the persistent finish features excellent floral lift.

Sporting an opaque ruby/purple center, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon (83% Cabernet, 9% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc) offers plenty of typicity in its blackcurrant, tobacco leaf, smoked herbs and spice-driven aromas and flavors. Rich, balanced, with ripe tannin and good concentration, it will evolve gracefully for 10-15 years.
