Tasting notes
Brilliant violet. Ripe cherry, dark berries and a hint of pungent flowers on the highly perfumed nose. Intense, very nicely concentrated dark fruit, spicecake and licorice flavors develop a touch of succulent herbs on the back half. Dusty tannins sneak in steadily on the finish, which features persistent mineral and cherry pit qualities.

The 2015 Morgon Corcelette, which sees 8 months in concrete tank, has a lifted dark cherry and raspberry coulis-scented bouquet with touches of rose petal developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, well judged acidity, smooth in texture with plenty of substance on the finish. I appreciate the focus and depth of this Morgon - a serious Beaujolais that should give 8-10 years of pleasure. Now, this is a very well crafted, damn delicious Morgon Corcelette!
