Bright medium ruby. Plum and nutty oak aromas seem a bit tired. Fat and creamy in the mouth, with blackberry and milk chocolate flavors along with an advanced note of nut skin. Finishes with big, tongue-dusting tannins that turned a bit dry as the wine opened in the glass.

The dark, almost black-colored 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Klipsun Vineyard explodes from the glass with intense scents of plummy red fruits. Broad-shouldered, this medium to full-bodied wine’s sultry, sexy entry coats the palate with lush waves of blackberries before compressing in the finish because of massive tannin (typical of Klipsun Cabs). Its exceptional attack will guarantee this wine an outstanding score if time softens its firm structure. Projected maturity: 2008-2018. This winery, named after Chris and Annie Camarda’s nephew, Andrew, as well as son, Will, used to produce a bevy of Merlots and Cabernets from contracted vineyards. Recently, however, it has evolved towards the production of Bordeaux-style blends that reflect Chris’s perception of each vineyard’s terroir.
