2001 Surh Luchtel Cabernet Sauvignon Sacrashe Vineyard

I tasted through a number of offerings from Surh Luchtel, but this deep ruby/purple-colored 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Sacrashe Vineyard is the only cuvee that merited a recommendation. Its sweet bouquet of black currants and kirsch is followed by a voluptuous wine with uncomplicated, rich, savory cassis flavors, loads of texture, glycerin, and fruit, and a spicy, heady finish.
