2010 Bedrock Cabernet Sauvignon Bedrock Vineyard

Deep ruby. Displays aromas of dried cherry, vanilla, pipe tobacco, and a hint of pungent herbs. Dry and precise, offering lively red fruit flavors and a touch of sweet chewing tobacco. In a taut, nervy style, with very good finishing clarity, seductive sweetness and subtle, finely woven tannins. (JR)

By far the most surprising wine of this tasting, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Bedrock Vineyard is pure old school. Vibrant, layered and totally impeccable, the 2010 Cabernet is a wine of true personality. Black fruit, cassis, smoke, tar and licorice mesh together in a bold, totally dazzling wine that should drink well for many, many years. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030. Morgan Peterson continues to put out a bevy of superb, site-driven wines, many of them focused on the old-vine, heritage sites he and a small cadre of fellow producers have brought back from the brink of extinction.
