Tasting notes
Pale yellow. Fresh pit fruits, melon, pear and a hint of honey on the deeply perfumed nose. In a bright, energetic style, showing solid thrust to the sappy orchard and pit fruits, which put on weight as the wine opens up. A spicy ginger flourish adds cut to a long, focused finish that features suggestions of orange pith and bitter peach pit. Raised in a combination of concrete vats and French oak foudres , puncheons and barriques. 10% of the oak was new.

The 2020 White EXT is a blend of 49% Grenache Blanc, 43% Viognier and 8% Roussanne. It aged four months sur lie in concrete, fourdre and French oak. It's the same blend as the 2020 White, just with an additional five months of aging in foudre. It has scents of spicy white peaches, with tones of beeswax, hazelnuts and graphite, and it drinks like a fresh Bordeaux Blanc, with intense fruits and a rounded texture, finishing uplifted and perfumed. It's an exciting candidate for another 5-8 years in the cellar. 320 cases were made, and this will be released in early 2022.
Bright citrus, lemon, dried herbs, and honeyed minerality all emerge from the 2020 Estate White, a lively, fresh, mineral-laced white that's going to be incredibly versatile on the dinner table with its bright, crisp style. The blend is 49% Grenache Blanc, 43% Viognier, and 8% Roussanne. Epoch is another top estate in Paso Robles that has seen incredible growth and change over the past decade. Now in a new facility on York Mountain, winemaker Jordan Fiorentini continues to experiment with new blends as well as different fermentation vessels, also using a touch more whole cluster at times. These are rich, textured, classic Paso Robles reds.
