Score 91/100 · Drink 2018-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2017
The 2015 Grenache Old-Vine Sceales Vineyard was fermented in concrete and aged in a combination of concrete and neutral oak. Ripe and almost flamboyant for this wine, with quite a bit of tannic grip, the 2015 is going to need at least a year or two to come into its own. The flavors are bright and lifted, with a good deal of citrus-infused brightness. The 100% whole clusters are very nicely balanced. I also tasted the 2014. That wine remains fresh, vibrant and full of life.
