Score 91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2012
(13.5% alcohol): Bright cherry-red. Sappy aromas of black cherry, flowers, spices and orange zest, complemented by a whiff of forest floor. Bright, juicy and sharply delineated, with harmonious acidity giving the red fruit flavors an enticing sappy quality. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and very good length. Not the last word in complexity but a real essence of pinot noir. This wine is routinely an excellent value in California pinot.
