The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Wild Iris gives up vivacious notes of white peaches, fresh pears and honeysuckle with wafts of baker’s yeast and elderflower. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers a wonderfully oily texture and loads of honeyed stone fruit flavors, finishing with great persistence. 400 cases produced.

Reminding me of Bordeaux Blanc from the Graves region, the 2017 Wild Iris Sauvignon Blanc offers up lots of lemon curd, lemon grass, and subtle white flower notes to go with a medium-bodied, balanced, elegant style on the palate. It has some obvious minerality on the finish and should age gracefully for at least 4-5 years. These Clark Claudon releases are made by the incredibly talented Jean Hoefliger and come from a vineyard located on the east side of Howell Mountain.
