A huge, inky wine, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Harbison Vineyard possesses stunning richness, intensity and pure, virile power. An exotic mélange of blueberry jam, crème de cassis, lavender, chocolate, and espresso give the 2015 much of its texture and voluptuousness. It is fascinating to taste the Harbison next to the other Oakville wines in this range - the Tin Box, Saunders and the Tench wines - as it seems to have just a little more of everything. In a word: stunning.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Harbison Vineyard is a black, black, inky wine in just about every sense. This full-bodied effort comes from a site in Oakville, not far from the Tin Box Vineyard, that was developed in 2005 that consists of steep slopes of red, volcanic soils. Its deep purple color is followed by a thrilling bouquet of black cherries, currants, plums, smoked earth and huge mineral-like aromatics. These carry to an unctuous, opulent, viscous beauty that puts its foot firmly on the pedal, yet still offers elegance and remarkable purity. It’s a terrific wine.

Very deep purple-black colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Harbison Vineyard has a fantastically youthful nose of freshly crushed blackberries and black currants with a wonderfully savory undercurrent of smoked meats, sautéed herbs, pencil lead and earth with a touch of yeast extract. Full-bodied, concentrated and impactful on the palate, it has loads of savory layers with great freshness and a long, plush-textured finish.
