(a blend of 40% each grenache and syrah plus 20% mourvedre; 15.9% alcohol) Saturated ruby. Aromas of blackberry, minerals, violet, mint, dark chocolate and gardenia. Suave, pliant and sweet, with lovely inner-mouth perfume. Very sexy wine with excellent lift and perfectly integrated acidity. Finishes very long, with substantial tongue-dusting tannins and a lingering floral character. This bottling was terrific in '03 as well.
About the producer
