The 2015 Verve is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Roussanne, and Viognier that was brought up in a mix of older barrels and acacia. Matthias Pippig excels with these eclectic blends, and this beauty has a rocking bouquet of blackcurrants, blueberries, lavender, ground pepper, and bouquet garni. Deep, rich, full-bodied, and pure on the palate, it's a rock star blend that's going to evolve for another decade.

The 2015 Verve, a Grenache-based blend, offers terrific density and power. Grenache aromatics are front and center, while the Syrah and Petite Sirah are felt in the wine's fruit profile and overall structure. Verve is perhaps not quite as opulent or alluring as some of the other wines in the range, but it is nevertheless very attractive. The finish is substantial and deeply resonant.
A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Rousanne and Viognier, the 2015 Verve offers up aromas of kirsch, black raspberries, spice, potpourri and candied peel. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and sun-kissed, even heady, with a chassis of fine-grained tannins that assert themselves on the finish, good concentration and succulent acids. This does a good job of hiding its considerable ripeness, but it isn't for the fainthearted.
