Score 92/100 · Drink 2009-2024, Robert Parker, Dec 2009
The 2006 is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It is a strong wine in 2006, with licorice and earthy black cherry and black currant flavors intermixed with some smoke, burning embers, and floral undertones. Deep, medium to full-bodied, rich, and surprisingly round, with silky tannins, this wine should drink well for the next 15 years. This wine, meant to be the selection of the very best terroirs and grapes from entrepreneur Bill Hill’s holdings in Napa Valley, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
