Tasting notes
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon coming from Sage Ridge and Tench vineyard with 12.5% Merlot coming from Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard. Deep garnet-purple colored, it bursts with bold notions of crème de cassis, plum preserves and chocolate-covered cherries, plus hints of Chinese five spice, dried mint and smoked meats. Medium to full-bodied, rich and velvety in the mouth, it has loads of spicy sparks and a spicy kick on the finish. 310 cases were made.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen is another head-turning wine from this estate. Lots of loamy earth, spice, iron, and smoked red and black fruits define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, a great mid-palate, and the balance and class to drink nicely today yet also evolve for 15-20 years.
