Tasting notes
The 2020 Pinot Noir West Block comes from the original vines at Rochioli, planted in 1969. It has a medium ruby-purple color and detailed, nuanced aromas of blackberries, red cherries, iron, eucalyptus, woodsmoke and orange peel. The medium-bodied palate has gently rustic tannins, fresh acidity, earthy fruits and a long, spicy finish.

The 2020 Pinot Noir West Block is attractive, but like all of the wines, it is on the lighter side. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon, mint, tobacco and cedar are nicely delineated in this mid-weight offering from Rochioli. The slightly dried out flavor profile is indicative of a wine that is likely to offer its best drinking sooner rather than later.
