2009 Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon Benchland Select

Bright ruby. Black fruits, licorice, mocha, smoke and graphite on the nose. More savory than sweet but with an attractive mid-palate creaminess of texture. The wine's chewy tannins turn a bit dry with air, ultimately cutting off its fruit. Despite its solid material, this wine does not have the definition or inner-mouth lift to suggest further improvement ahead. (14.8% alcohol)
