Score 90/100 · Drink 2002-2016, Robert Parker, Dec 2000
The outstanding 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon (a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 5% Petit-Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc) was aged for 23 months in predominantly French oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. A classic Cabernet, it is medium to full-bodied and harmonious, with copious quantities of black currants, black cherries, licorice, and sous-bois (underbrush). Pure, fleshy, and multilayered, this moderately tannic, accessible effort will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring; it should age for 15-16 years. Tel. (707) 938-5170; Fax (707) 938-5195
