Tasting notes
In the same ballpark quality-wise, the 2016 Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge Vineyard offers more smoked red and black fruits as well as some marine characteristics, spice, and ample brambly herbs. A richer, medium to full-bodied, flamboyant wine, it still has a terrific sense of elegance and purity. Aged 15 months in 25% new French oak, drink it over the coming 7-8 years.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge is endowed with lovely energy and vitality. At present, though, the 2016 is a bit reduced, and needs a good bit of air to show at its best. Crushed red berry, mint, chalk, white pepper and blood orange give the 2016 a bright upper register, as well as tons of sheer appeal.
Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2016 Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge slides seductively out of the glass with floral notions of of red roses, lilacs and potpourri with a core of black cherries, black raspberries, underbrush and kirsch plus hints of black tea, wild thyme and unsmoked tobacco. Medium-bodied, fine, refreshing and delicately styled, it has a wonderfully plush frame and long, fragrant finish.
