Tasting notes
Alpha Omega's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard is a terrific example of this vast hillside property. Dark and powerful, with considerable tannic heft, the 2015 offers tons of pure appeal. Black cherry, gravel, licorice and dark spice abound in this imposing, deep Napa Valley Cabernet. I would give the 2015 a few years to soften. This is very nicely done.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard is a ripe, sexy 2015 that shows the vintage nicely. Smoked plums, currants, violets, ginger, and plenty of spice emerge from this medium to full-bodied, silky, nicely balanced 2015. With no hard edges, excellent purity, and nicely integrated acidity, it’s a charming, forward, balanced beauty to drink over the coming 10-15 years. Along with consultant Michel Rolland, winemaker Jean Hoefliger has produced an incredible number of killer wines in 2014 and 2015. If you’re interested in learning about all the various sites throughout the Valley, this is a good place to start.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach gives up fresh blackcurrant, kirsch and blackberries on the nose with a gentle undercurrent of dried herbs, garrigue and damp soil. The palate is medium to full-bodied, taut and fine-grained, with good delineation and a mineral-laced finish.
