As with all of the extended-age releases, the 2018 Tempranillo 22 isn’t far off the traditional cuvée, offering similar notes of black raspberries, currants, spiced meats, white chocolate, and some loamy earth. The palate is more full-bodied, however, and the tannins have another level of polish as well. It’s actually more approachable than the classic cuvée, yet my money is on it evolving for just as long.
