Tasting notes
Another sumptuous wine, the 2012 Pilgrim (Syrah) presents a distinctly more red-toned and aromatically intense, pungent expression of Syrah. Red stone fruits, pomegranate, mint, cinnamon, cherry jam and wild flowers abound. Supple and dense yet also quite nuanced for a wine with this much intensity, the 2012 is very nicely done.

Another beautiful wine that excels for its purity and seamless texture, the 2012 Syrah Pilgrim has an approachable, sweet bouquet of creme de cassis, vanilla bean, white chocolate, pepper and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and elegant, with no hard edges and terrific purity of fruit, it can be drunk now or cellared for 7-8 years. The blend is 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier and it was mostly destemmed and spent 30 months in 40% new French oak.
