Tasting notes
(this was recently released after having been held at the winery in bottle for a year) Full deep red. Complex, smoky aromas of brambly raspberry and mocha. Tangy, minerally and light on its feet, with ripe acids contributing to the impression of inner-mouth perfume. A slightly carnal quality adds complexity to the red fruit flavors. Finishes with very good length. Offers a compelling combination of sweet fruit and spine. I slightly underestimated this wine when I tasted it last March just prior to bottling.

Full, deep red. Higher-pitched aromas of raspberry, currant, plum, spices and tarry oak. A step up in intensity and grip from the regular Carneros cuvee, with deeper flavors of berries, smoke and loam. Finishes with more serious tannins and noteworthy persistence.
