Tasting notes
Good deep red-ruby. Cassis, licorice, tar and a whiff of dusty soil on the nose. Tactile and dusty throughout; less pliant and sweet today than the D'Adamo but rich and plush nonetheless, with a deep truffley, earthy character. This really spreads out to saturate the palate. Finishes very long and pliant, with seamless tannins.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Firehouse Vineyard from Rutherford has an even more multi-dimensional nose of sweet black cherries, black currants, and plum as well as hints of graphite and spice box. Saturated purple to the rim, it is hard not to resist the plush, full-bodied texture, with its beautiful purity of fruit and impressive integration of acidity, wood and alcohol. This is a relatively large-scaled Cabernet Sauvignon but one with grace and high quality. It will certainly develop for 5-6 years at the minimum and drink well for up to two decades. Tel.
