Score 91/100 · Drink 2025-2030, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2025

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Affinity, tasted from magnum, is impressive. Black fruit, chocolate, new leather and licorice are all dialed up. Strong oak inflections add to the wine's flamboyant personality. The 2015 has aged exceptionally well, especially considering it was Robert Craig's entry-level offering at the time.

Robert Craig's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Affinity is soft, open-knit and quite giving, all qualities that make it easy to drink young. Bright red cherry fruit, floral notes and a kiss of new French oak are nicely pushed forward in this very pretty, silky, mid-weight Cabernet. This is a decidedly restrained, gracious wine, with all of its elements very nicely balanced.

The entry-level wine is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Affinity and it just about always delivers. I’m just now finishing cases of the 2003 and have enjoyed every bottle. The 2015 is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and the balance Malbec and Petit Verdot, all of which spent 18 months in 60% new French oak. With a deep purple color and beautiful notes of crème de cassis, lead pencil, graphite, and scorched earth, this beauty is medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated, and balanced, with good acidity and ripe tannin. Drink it anytime over the coming 10-15 years.

Deep purple-black in color and made up of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Affinity has rubber, asphalt and meaty notes with a core of blackberry preserves and baked plums. Medium to full-bodied, chewy and earthy in the mouth, it has pleasant herbal hints and is approachable to drink now.
