Coming from Sonoma, the 2021 Syrah Fuego Y Mar is just about pure perfect Syrah, and this beauty stopped me in my tracks. Ripe blackberries, ground pepper, liquid violet, and smoked game notes all define the aromatics, and it picks up subtle C te R tie-like spring flowers with air. With medium to full-bodied richness, off-the-charts purity and elegance, fine tannins, and a gorgeous finish, it's one of those wines you don't want to miss. I'd give bottles a year or two and enjoy over the following decade.

The 2021 Syrah Fuego y Mar is a dense, heady wine. Blackberry jam, grilled herbs, incense, lavender, crushed rocks and bittersweet chocolate power through as this ample, structured Syrah shows off its stunning energy and overall complexity. Deep, layered and explosive, the 2021 dazzles from start to finish. The Fuego y Mar is the most opulent of the three Syrahs in the range, but it has the balance to pull it off in style. Superb.
