Tasting notes
The saturated purple-colored 2001 Petite Syrah Estate (14.6% alcohol) boasts a fabulous perfume of black fruits, graphite, spice, and a hint of flowers. Extremely tannic, full-bodied, and massive, with excruciating levels of extract, this 2001 needs 5-8 years of cellaring; it should keep for two decades or more. Tel. (707) 963-0940

Saturated ruby-purple to the rim. Explosive aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, minerals and roasted coffee. Juicy, intense and clenched, with powerful flavors of crushed dark berries and pepper. Boasts impressive extract for young vines. Relies as much on its firm acids as on its ripe tannins for structure. Very interesting wine, and clear indication of the site's potential for petite sirah.
