All Wente and barrel-fermented in 80% new French oak with indigenous yeasts, the 2020 Chardonnay Ladybug continues the fabulous streak that this medium to full-bodied bottling has been on. It's honeyed, rich, creamy and opulent, with generous notions of tropical fruit and tangerines, with a sinewy supporting spine of acidity and freshness that defines the lingering finish. If it trails a step behind the magnificent 2019, my feeling is that it's a step ahead of the superb 2018.

The 2020 Chardonnay Ladybug offers a more Chablis-like, medium-bodied style as well as classic citrus, white flowers, chalk, and spicy nuances. As with the other Chardonnays from Hudson, it's impeccably made.
Lovely aromas of wet stone, fresh flowers, baked lemon and nutmeg. Medium-to full-bodied with a silky texture. Focused and restrained, while showing very good density and subtle intensity. Fresh and bright. Refreshing tannins at the finish. Drink or hold.
