Score 90+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2004
Deep red. Black raspberry, blackberry liqueur, and roasted oak on the nose, plus a cassis note of reduction. Reduced in the mouth but impressively dense and juicy, with concentrated black fruit and licorice flavors supported by firm structure. This finishes with firm, tactile tannins and very good length. This bottling should reward four or five years of patience.
