Packed with energy and intensity, so much salinity and structure, and a core of intense black fruits, incense, grilled earth, soot, liqourice, pencil lead and cigar box. 100% new French oak. Kathryn Carothers winemaker (now at Bryant). Philippe Melka consultant.

In the running for the greatest vintage to date at this estate, the inky colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon ADAMVS shows the incredible quality of this terroir as well as the vintage. Awesome notes of crème de cassis, crushed violets, and flowers all soar from the glass and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth. Where the 2015 isn’t holding anything back, this beauty stays more focused and composed, with elegance paired with restrained power. It has charm even today yet is upwards of a decade away from maturity and will be 50-year-wine. Hats off to winemaker Sarah Donley and consultant Philippe Melka for a sensational, magical wine!

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Adamvs, a selection from the best blocks on the estate, is another superb wine from Adamvs. Super-ripe red cherry, raspberry jam, rose petal, spice, and mint infuse this racy Cabernet. Even with all of its intensity, the Adamvs preserves terrific freshness to play off the sumptuous fruit. These Cabernet have always been super-concentrated in style, but the 2016 Adamvs is the first wine off this property that adds a dimension of finesse, these wines have, frankly, rarely shown in the past. Hopefully the 2016 will be a model to work from in the future.

Aged for 21 months in 100% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon ADAMVS is very deep purple-black in color and comes strutting out of the glass with regal notes of fragrant earth, crushed rocks, cast iron pan and fungi over a core of blackberry pie, warm plums and cassis plus wafts of unsmoked cigars and new leather. The palate is full-bodied with firm yet ripe tannins and tons of earth and savory layers, finishing very long and provocative. This needs time but should age wonderfully! 350 cases produced.
