Tasting notes
The 2017 Charles Ranch Chardonnay takes its time to open on the nose to baked quince and apples, wet hay, charcuterie and stone with hints of white blossoms. The medium-bodied palate is bright and lively with mineral-laced fruits, tangy acidity and a long, toasty finish.

The 2017 Chardonnay Charles Ranch is another captivating, arrestingly beautiful wine in this range. Intensely tropical and floral, with striking textural depth, the 2017 has so much going on. In the glass, the 2017 is intense, but not at all overly heavy. Tangerine, honey, dried flowers, almond and lemon confit all run through this superb Chardonnay.

About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
