Score 92/100 · Drink 2023-2028, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2023
The 2020 Pinot Noir Roman Vineyard shows a more virile side of Anderson Valley. Black cherry, sage, lavender, menthol, licorice and dried herbs are all amplified in a broad, deep Pinot that speaks with authority. The Roman is a bit burly, but it is also nicely balanced, especially for the year.

Lots of cooked strawberries and lime with walnut and cedar undertones. Full and tight in the mid-palate with an earth and walnut husk undertone. Solid and structured. Better in a year or two.
