2000 Pride Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Good full ruby. Cassis, violet and cedar on the nose. A step up in sweetness and flavor intensity from the merlot, with bright, more thoroughly integrated acidity framing the varietally pure cassis, black plum and violet flavors. Finishes firmly tannic but not dry. Pride has 13 acres of cabernet sauvignon on the Sonoma side of the county line, but this fruit was not yet used in the 2000 bottling.
