Score 90/100 · Drink 2010-2025, Robert Parker, Dec 2010

More elegant floral, blueberry, raspberry and black currant characteristics emerge from the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Lakeview Vineyard. From a vineyard planted in more chalky soils, the blend includes a small amount of Petit Verdot and the aging is identical to its two siblings, 20 months in 100% new French oak. With a deep ruby/purple color, a supple texture and an excellent mid-palate as well as length, this stylish Cabernet Sauvignon can be drunk now or cellared for 15 or more years. This winery at the bottom of Diamond Mountain in the Calistoga appellation has seven acres planted with nearly all Cabernet Sauvignon and some Petit Verdot. I first tasted these offerings with Mark Herold when he was the consulting winemaker, but now Thomas Rivers Brown has taken over the position. Tel. (707) 942-1513; Fax (707) 942-5301
