Tasting notes
The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, which comes from a year that got slammed by frost, offers a still youthful, full-bodied, beautifully textured style that's drinking well, if not quite at point. Ripe blue fruits, sandalwood, loamy earth, and spice are just some of the nuances here, and it has good mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This beauty seems to be right in the middle of its prime drinking window, with another 10-15 years of longevity ahead of it.

From a blueblood, first-growth vineyard, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon reveals an unmistakable “Paulliac in Napa” style. Blueberry, black currant, cedarwood, Christmas fruitcake, spice and licorice characteristics are present in this thick, juicy, concentrated Cabernet. It is another outstanding effort exhibiting elegance, power and richness. Enjoy it over the next 15 years. These are impressive efforts from proprietor Mark Carter. Tel. and Fax: (707) 445-0311
