Score 91/100 · Drink 2017-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2017

The 2013 Quartet is dark, fleshy and succulent, but within the Arietta style that favors grace over power alone. Dark cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and spice notes are meld together in an especially soft, open-knit 2013 that already drinks well.

Score 93/100 · Drink 2016-2030, Robert Parker, Dec 2015

Arietta’s 2013 Quartet is a blend of 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot aged 21 months in 50% new French oak. Complex notes of blackberry, cherry and spice all jump from the glass of this intriguing Bordeaux blend. The wine hides its new oak well, has a dense, ruby/purple color to the rim, is refreshing, elegant and stylish, despite its obvious power and richness. This is playing it very close to the vest and needs additional bottle age. With a very juicy finish, this is promising. Drink now-2030+.

Arietta's 2013 Quartet is dark, plump and juicy. Black cherry, cloves, new leather, smoke and licorice are all pushed forward. The 2013 finishes with a lovely floral/savory edge that is highly appealing. Drink this delicious, open-knit blend over the next decade or so.

The 2013 Red Blend Quartet shows all the natural intensity of the year in spades. Succulent red cherry fruit, blood orange, spice, menthol and sweet rose petals are all front and center. Attractive floral top notes wrap it all together. Once again, the Quartet overdelivers. The 2013 is still quite young. Readers lucky enough to still own it should be very pleased.
