Situated at a lower elevation than either the Lupina or Montecillo Vineyards, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Maus Vineyard still shows plenty of structure but also a more creamy, slightly plusher personality. Cherries and redcurrants give this wine a different character as well, but it still reflects winemaker Ketan Mody's stylistic preference for Cabernets that emphasize focus and length rather than breadth or power.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Maus is rich, deep and super-expressive. Black cherry, red plum, rose petal, mint, spice and gravel infuse the 2018 with tons of character and personality. Beautifully perfumed with striking inner sweetness, great fruit purity and tons of finesse, the 2018 is positively stellar. I loved it.
