Similar to the 2014, the 2013 Syrah is a big, rich, sweetly fruited wine that has tons of jammy black fruits, toasted spice, violets and wood smoke aromatics, full-bodied richness and a plump, supple, sexy texture that's a joy to drink. Made from 95% Syrah and 5% Grenache, aged in 70% new French oak, drink it over the coming 5-7 years.

Inky purple. Complex aromas of blackberry, incense, smoky minerals and Indian spices. Displays an array of black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors that show unlikely energy for the wine's depth and power. Picks up allspice and anise nuances with air, along with a suggestion of vanilla. Finishes with superb smoky persistence, with smooth tannins making a late appearance.
