The 2013 Creativity is 100% Mourvèdre, made using 35% whole cluster and aged 15 months in 33% new French oak barrels and puncheons. The nose slowly offers up dried violets, lilac, crushed blackcurrants and black cherries with red berry sparks, pipe tobacco, old leather, salumi and underbrush scents. The palate is full-bodied and packed with fruit, firmly framed and lightly chewy with just enough freshness to carry the finish. 194 cases were made.

Opaque purple. Powerful, mineral-laced blueberry, cherry-cola and incense aromas pick up suggestions of black cardamom and woodsmoke with air. Palate-staining black and blue fruit flavors deepen and spread out while retaining vivacity and focus. Deftly blends richness and finesse, with a smoky mineral quality adding cut to the strikingly long, sweet finish.
