Tasting notes
Deep, brilliant violet. Expansive, smoke-accented aromas of cassis, cherry, mocha and licorice; a suave floral nuance builds in the glass. Appealingly sweet and expressive on the palate, offering deeply concentrated black/blue fruit, vanilla and candied lavender flavors and a touch of star anise. Shows excellent detail and powerful thrust on a long, sappy finish framed by harmonious, slowly building tannins. 67% new French oak.

The 2017 Tempranillo comes from the Paderewski vineyard and was aged 19 months in 67% new French oak barrels and puncheons. It has an opaque ruby-purple color and a nose of sour cherries and Italian plums with underlying nuances of tar, coffee, leather and soy sauce. The palate is super spicy, bright and fresh, with a firm structuring frame and long, layered finish. It's an elegant New World expression of the grape.
Blackberries, savory herbs, dried earth, and lots of spiced meat notes emerge from the 2017 Tempranillo. This full-bodied red has a great texture, some classic Tempranillo tannins, and a terrific finish. It’s going to evolve for a solid decade.
