Tasting notes
Red-ruby. Currant, graphite, minerals, leather and tobacco leaf on the nuanced nose. Nicely ripe and intense, with a supple texture and a subtle sweetness to the redcurrant, tobacco, espresso and licorice flavors. I like the combination of depth and juiciness here. Finishes with serious ripe tannins and lovely chocolatey persistence. Attractive already owing to its complexity but has the stuffing and balance for a graceful evolution in bottle.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Révélation possesses quite a bit of depth as well as energy. Blackberries, graphite, camphor, leather and licorice are some of the notes that flow from this Cabernet. The mountain tannins are quite present. The Révélation is attractive but far from compelling. The 2009 is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot plus a dollop of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Revelation possesses quite a bit of depth as well as energy. Blackberries, graphite, camphor, leather and licorice are some of the notes that flow from this Cabernet. The mountain tannins are quite present on the finish. The Revelation is attractive but far from compelling. The 2009 is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot plus a dollop of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. Quite frankly, I expected more from Capture considering the involvement of well-known consulting oenologists Denis and May-Britt Malbec. For now Capture remains a work in progress. I remain confident that quality will improve over time. For now, the pricing on these wines remains out of touch with reality. Tel. (707) 395-0457
