Tasting notes
Bright red-ruby. Expressive, nicely ripe nose melds raspberry, plum, chocolate, coffee and licorice. Sweet, ripe and easygoing, offering pliant cherry, raspberry and licorice flavors accented but not blighted by pepper and herb notes. The team did a strict selection to make this wine, which is ultimately 70% from Mast Vineyard fruit.

Perfumed and beautiful with plum and floral character. Full-bodied, very refined and pretty. Bright and balanced. A blend of Mast Vineyard, Cimarossa Vineyard and a tiny bit of To alon. Drink now.
(Tor Kenward described the 2011 cabernet samples I tasted with him in March as close to the final blends): Good bright red-ruby. Bright aromas and flavors of redcurrant, sour cherry, tobacco leaf, licorice and peppery herbs; in a claret-like style. Suave and fine-grained, with harmonious acidity; not a big wine but elegantly styled and essentially silky. Finishes with pliant, smooth tannins and very good length.
