Tasting notes
From an estate-owned vineyard planted in the 1920s on ancient calcareous soils. Head-trained and dry-farmed. Certified organic. Pale ruby. Brighter and lighter than Brandlin Ranch. It has a generous, sweet, red-fruited core. Slightly warm in the finish yet elegantly balanced, with a chalky texture, bright acidity and lots of depth and perfume. It has a charming dried-thyme and orange-marmalade undertone, too. (FG)

The 2021 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard is packed with dark fruit, candied plum, spice, lavender and leather. This opulent, flamboyant Paso Robles Zinfandel from vines planted in 1923 is a wine of extremes. Jammy, opulent fruit and searing acids are all dialed up. Then again, that is Paso.
The 2021 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard is elegant and expressive this vintage, with singular botanical nuances that give it a lot of personality. Its aromas open significantly as it spends time in the glass, from a core of red cherry jam to wafts of fernet, wildflowers and tea leaves. The palate is soft, supple and energetic, with detailed, nuanced fruit and an ethereal, layered finish. What a pleasure to drink!
