Score 90+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2004
(aged in mostly new barrels, about 40% from American oak) Good bright medium ruby. Very dark, primary aromas of cassis, violet and bitter chocolate. Juicy and tightly wound, with sweet but firm flavors of black cherry and licorice. Dry-edged, classic, very young cabernet for the cellar. Finishes with tongue-clenching tannins and very good length. This really calls for six to eight years of bottle aging.
