The 2018 Chardonnay Martinelli Road emerges from a cool site in Forestville. Silky and wonderfully nuanced, the Martinelli Road is all class. It is another wine that marries richness with freshness, always in the Martinelli style. Dried flowers, chamomile and savory notes linger nicely. The 2018 is a powerhouse, but it has plenty of detail too. I would cellar it for a year or so, as it is pretty tightly wound today.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
