Score 93/100 · Drink 2016-2036, Robert Parker, Oct 2016
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville comes from three vineyards, two of which are extremely well-known – the Tench Vineyard (made famous by Russell Bevan), the To Kalon Vineyard, and one I am not terribly familiar with, Two Dogs Vineyard – all of them in Oakville. The blend is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, except for 15% Petit Verdot. Treated similarly to the other wines, it spent 17 months in 100% new French oak, shows an opaque purple color, notes of graphite, Pauillac-like cedar wood and pure crème de cassis. It is a masculine, full-bodied, powerful 2014 that is slightly more tannic than many wines from this vintage. It is a big wine and should drink nicely for 15-20 Years.
