Sporting a deep ruby color, the 2002 Champoux Vineyard has an herbal edge in its tobacco leaf, olive, earth and underbrush profile. It is medium to full-bodied, nicely textured and balanced, with a clean finish. I find it too herbacous, but your mileage may vary.

(64% cabernet sauvignon, 21% merlot, 11% petit verdot and 4% cabernet franc) Full ruby-red. Exotic aroma of roasted berries, with a suggestion of animal crackers. Plump, lush and sweet, with sappy, rather powerful dark berry flavors nicely framed by ripe, harmonious acidity. Finishes with building, mouthdusting tannins and strong fresh fruit.
