Tasting notes
A selection of the very best barrels in the cellar, the 2021 Chardonnay True Course is 75% UV Vineyard and 25% Purrington-Rued. Gently toasted hazelnuts mingle playfully with hints of vanilla, tangerine and white peach custard, while this full-bodied wine is richly textured and long, with an almost velvety finish.

The 2021 Chardonnay True Course is the top Chardonnay in the range. It offers a fabulous mix of fruit intensity, aromatics and structure. The blend of 75% UV and 25% Rued works so well here. The True Course has the structural intensity of UV but is softened by the gentler contours of Rued. It is another impeccable Chardonnay from winemaker Allison Nunnikhoven.
The 2021 Chardonnay True Course is predominantly from selections of UV Vineyard, with 25% coming from the Purrington Rued Vineyard, and it was fermented and raised in French oak for 14 months, 25% new. Balanced and layered, the wine opens to just a hint of flinty reduction, with fresh nectarine, orange oil, wet stone, and white pepper. Medium to full-bodied, it’s coiled with a long core of pure fruit and driving fresh acidity, with a soft mineral texture. Long on the palate, it will do well to see another year or two in the cellar. Drink 2025-2035.
