Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Heady aromas of dark berry preserves, cola, violet and woodsmoke, with a minerally quality providing focus. Lively and precise on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit flavors that expand with air. Fine-grained tannins lend shape to the finish, which leaves suave floral and peppery spice notes behind.

The 2010 Syrah DaKine Vineyard does not possess as saturated a purple color as its sibling. It also displays more dark red than black fruits of the Goosechase. Made in a St.-Joseph-like lighter style, it is well-made and elegant with lots of minerality as well as a French personality. This medium-bodied Syrah can be drunk now and over the next 4-5 years.
